WaKIDS Kindergarten Family Connection Meetings
We recognize families are a child’s first teacher.
During the first six days of kindergarten, from September 3-10, all kindergarten families will have a WaKIDS Kindergarten Family Connection Meeting with their child's assigned teacher in the afternoon.
These meetings allow families to meet with their child's teacher and share their child's strengths. During this time, families can also ask teachers about what their child will learn throughout the school year.
As a reminder, all kindergarten scholars will start with six half-days to provide an opportunity for our new scholars to get to know their school building, learn routines and expectations & build relationships before starting school full-time. Scholars will be dismissed 3.5 hours earlier than normal, and the afternoon will be used to conduct family meetings.
If your child rides the bus, this means your child’s bus will arrive at their normal stop approximately 3.5 hours earlier than normal. As an important reminder, parents or guardians must be present to pick up their child from the bus stop when the bus arrives.
